Highlights
- The Esports Arena at Bow Valley College is Calgary’s first Esports Arena. The much anticipated 70-seat arena will be a new hub for competition, innovation, and game development. The space features 40 competition ready gaming stations, two full motion-rigged racing simulators, a state-of-the-art broadcast suite, and a dedicated varsity esports training room.
- Botting completed the mechanical scope on a fast-tracked schedule in order to meet the aggressive opening date set by the college. We worked with the engineers and suppliers on alternate equipment options that would satisfy the specifications and enable us to meet the tight schedule.
- Mechanical highlights include running new chilled water mains through the floor below to enable the 11 new fan coil units to provide the 30 tons of cooling required to keep the gaming equipment and lighting operating, and the occupants comfortable. Trench fan coils were installed in a new raised floor around the perimeter glass. There were stringent acoustical requirements for the new space which required close coordination onsite to sure our installation was completed correctly.
